A 24-year-old Woodland Hills woman was being held in Oregon on Saturday on suspicion of shooting her mother to death in her bedroom.
Laura Lutrell Purviance was arrested by Oregon State troopers about 4 a.m. Friday at the Valley of the Rogue rest stop on Interstate 5, about 13 miles south of Medford, Oregon State Police said.
She was wanted in connection with the slaying of her mother, Caroline Sue Purviance, 61, of Burbank, who was found shot to death at about 8:20 p.m. Thursday in her daughter’s room in the 5600 block of N. Mason Avenue, Los Angeles police said.
Caroline Sue Purviance was lying face up, fully dressed, her face bloody, where she appeared to have been shot, he said. She might have been dead six to eight hours, he said.
