On Monday afternoon, Charles Walker Jr. was shot and killed in the 4000 block of 28th Avenue at about 4:20 p.m. Prince George’s County Police officials say the suspect was after a shopping bag the teen was carrying. Walker’s friends and family say he was taking the new Timberland boots to his girlfriend.
“He was going to give his girlfriend [the shoes],” student Nico Williams said. “He was walking and somebody said, ‘Give me them shoes,’ and he said no, and somebody pulled a gun.”
Walker was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Detectives combed the neighborhood for clues in the immediate aftermath of the shooting.
