The grandmother of a Chicago man suspected of murdering his own grandfather has been charged with paying her grandson to carry out the deadly deed.
Janet Strickland, 64, was charged with first-degree murder and robbery in the March 2 shooting death of her husband, 72-year-old William Strickland, the Chicago Tribune reports.Janet’s grandson, William D. Strickland, 19, was charged late last month in his grandfather’s murder and ordered held without bond. His grandfather had been reportedly waiting for a Pace bus to take him to his weekly dialysis treatment when he was approached in the gangway near his home in the 400 block of East 95th Street, shot multiple times and robbed.
A Far South Side man was in a gangway just steps from his home early Saturday when he was shot to death in an apparent robbery attempt while walking toward the ride scheduled to take him to a dialysis appointment.
It happened around 3:30 Saturday morning as the man walked out of his south side home in the 400-block of East 95th Street.
