San Antonio’s latest murder was the result of drugs and revenge, authorities said.
Police believe a 39-year-old man paid a very deadly price for some heroin.
Just before 9 p.m. Thursday, Israel Pacheco told someone he had scored some drugs, according to police.
He reportedly went to a home in the 2200 block of W. Laurel near Culebra Road to use those drugs with another person.
Pacheco told that person that he had “burned” someone, meaning that he had stole them, investigators said.
SAPD says when Pacheco left the house using heroin, there was a car waiting outside. Detectives said inside the car was a gunman who wanted payback for those drugs.
The gunman opened fire on Pacheco. The 39-year-old was shot three times, twice in the arm and once in the chest. He was taken to University Hospital, but Pacheco did not survive. Authorities said he died overnight.
A man was shot dead Thursday night while bragging about stealing drugs, witnesses told police.
Isreal Pacheco, 39, was gunned down about 8:30 p.m. on the 2200 block of West Laurel near Culebra Road, police said.
