Police are investigating a murder-suicide that left a Waxahachie couple dead over the weekend.
Witnesses say Pete Ledesma barricaded himself in a Ferris Avenue home on Saturday night before killing his girlfriend, 32-year-old Natalie Toney.
Ledesma, 27, then shot himself as his brother, who heard the first shot, tried to force his way into the bedroom. Several other family members were at the home during the shooting.
Both Ledesma and Toney died at the scene. It’s unclear whether the couple had a history of domestic violence.
Waxahachie Police were called to a residence in the 1500 block of Ferris Ave. at approximately 9:45 p.m. Saturday, June 22.
A caller reported two persons had been shot there. Officers found two people in a bedroom that were deceased on their arrival. They were taken to the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s office. The dead are 32-year-old Natalie Toney and 27-year-old Pete Ledesma. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
