LUTTRELL, Tenn. (WVLT) — A Knox County Schools security officer has been arrested in the death of a Lutrell man who was shot and killed late Monday night.
TBI officials identified the victim as 45 Michael Adam Woodby. Authorities say he was shot during an altercation with two men walking in the 500 block of Highway 370 shortly after 10:00 p.m.
Kevin Lee Waggoner, 42, was charged with criminal homicide Tuesday afternoon. He was sent to the Union County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
KNOXVILLE — A Knox County Schools security officer is on leave without pay tonight after being charged with criminal homicide in the fatal shooting of a neighbor in Union County.
The school system altered Kevin Lee Waggoner’s status of being on leave with pay once authorities announced they were charging him.
Waggoner, 42, appeared before a judge Tuesday afternoon and remained in jail with bond set at $250,000, according to Union County Sheriff’s Office Detective Kenneth Crider.
He had been placed on paid administrative leave after a Monday night shooting that left neighbor Michael Adam Woodby dead.
MAYNARDVILLE — A judge today boosted to first-degree murder a charge against a Union County man accused of killing his neighbor after a years-long feud.
Kevin Lee Waggoner, 42, is accused of shooting his neighbor Michael Adam Woodby back in September. According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Waggoner was with his son when they confronted Woodby over an unknown incident.
Thursday, Waggoner was charged with one count of second degree murder. His son, Kolton, was charged with one count of facilitation of second degree murder.
