(WBIR) The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation confirmed that a man killed after an officer-involved shooting in Etowah Monday night was a person of interest for a recent murder in Robertson County.

TBI said when an Etowah police officer tried to pull over David Greenwood, 49, for a traffic stop just before 8 p.m., Greenwood backed his vehicle into the officer’s patrol car at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 411 and fled the scene in his vehicle. Two other officers tried to stop the suspect.

When Greenwood stopped several hundred yards away, he got out of his vehicle with a gun. The two officers then fired their weapons at the Greenwood on Highway 411 north of Highway 30. Crews drove the suspect to UT Medical Center where he later died.

TBI spokesperson Kristen Helm said Greenwood was a person of interest in a Robertson County death investigation.

Early Sunday morning, officials discovered a woman’s body while shifting through a 100-year-old home destroyed by a fire. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office said Greenwood was in a relationship with the victim, Kim Moran, reports The Tennessean.

Robertson County Sheriff Bill Holt told The Tennessean that the couple lived in the farmhouse with Moran’s teenage daughter. Moran also has a grown son who did not live at the home.

Police say a woman found dead last Saturday night in a Pleasant View home fire was shot. Her name is Kim Moran and police have now officially ruled her death a homicide. According to a release from police the Medical Examiner’s preliminary report on the victim from Sunday’s fire on Jack Teasley Road has ruled her death a homicide. According to the report, the official cause of death was via a gunshot wound.
