PLAINFIELD — A Plainfield man was shot dead outside on a small residential street Tuesday night, authorities said.
Dawud Hicks, 21, was shot around 9 p.m. on the 300-block of Manson Place, said Mark Spivey, a spokesman for the Union County Prosecutor’s Office.
Hicks was rushed to a Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he was pronounced dead about 9:30 p.m., Spivey said.
Investigators have determined that shots were fired in the area of Monroe Avenue and West 3rd Street moments before Hicks was shot on Manson Place, said Grace Park, the acting Union County Prosecutor. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been named yet today.
Lavarr Nowell was indicted Friday on first-degree murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose charges in connection with the death of Dawud Hicks, according to acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park.
