A 27-year-old Williamstown man was shot dead at his home early Saturday morning after a 53-year-old man arrived there to find the younger man with his wife, state police say.
State police spokesman Trooper Robert Hicks said the scene unfolded around 3:30 a.m. Saturday in a trailer the 27-year-old lived in behind his parents’ home in the 100 block of Lenker Drive. The younger man had brought the other man’s 36-year-old wife back to the trailer earlier that evening, Hicks said, prompting the older man to confront them.
During the confrontation inside the trailer, the 53-year-old pulled a handgun and shot the younger man, killing him, Hicks said.
The older man then assaulted his wife, but was arrested by state troopers who arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting, Hicks said. The woman was taken to a hospital where she was treated and released, Hicks added.
Trooper Timothy Janosco Jr. of the Lykens station charged Souffront with shooting and killing James W. Harbst, 27, in a travel trailer to the rear of 185 Lenker Drive in Williams Township about 3:40 a.m.
