CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night on Cleveland’s West Side, in what was the city’s fifth suspected slaying in as many days.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the man Tuesday morning as Luis Cruz.
Cleveland Police said Cruz was sitting in a silver Honda in the 3200 block of West 90th Street with two other people about 9:35 p.m. Police said the unknown shooter fired into the car, striking the victim, and then ran away.
Cruz was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in a private vehicle before officers arrived on scene, police said. He was later pronounced dead.

Deshon Day is wanted on an aggravated murder charge in the Dec. 9 shooting death of Luis Cruz.
Cruz and two others sat in a silver Honda in the 3200 block of West 90th Street about 9:30 p.m. that night.
Police said Day approached the vehicle and opened fire, hitting Cruz in the head and chest.
Cruz was driven to MetroHealth Medical Center in a private car. He later died from his injuries.
19 Action News has learned two men were shot, and then taken by a private car to Metro.
According to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner, Luis Cruz, 30, later died from his injuries.
The condition of the other victim is not known.
