A 54-year-old man is believed to have shot and killed his wife, and then called 911 and waited for deputies to arrive at their home east of La Russell.
Lawrence County Sheriff Brad DeLay said David K. Holman was arrested Monday night after the fatal shooting of Radonna L. (Roland) Holman, 55, inside their home at 6504 Highway 97.
Holman was charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action. He remained in custody Wednesday at the Lawrence County Jail in Mount Vernon without any bond amount set as yet. He is expected to make an initial court appearance sometime today.
DeLay said Holman called 911 to report that his wife had been shot. Deputies who responded to the call found her on a bed in the residence with a single gunshot wound to her torso. The deputies tried to revive her, but she appeared to have died before the arrival of emergency responders, the sheriff said.
Lawrence County authorities say a man has been charged with first-degree murder in the apparent shooting death of his wife.
The sheriff’s office says 55-year-old Radonna Roland-Holman was found on a bed at her home Monday night in western Lawrence County with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Deputies were unable to save her.
Investigators say her husband, 54-year-old David Holman, called authorities to the house. He was later charged and is being held without bond in the county jail. It was unclear if he had an attorney.
