HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Huntington police have identified a man who was kicked out of a bar, returned with a gun and began shooting inside before he was fatally shot by an employee.
During the exchange of gunfire early Friday, three people suffered gunshot wounds. They were hospitalized.
The Herald-Dispatch reported that the shooting at Shoop’s Bar followed the gunman’s altercation with a woman, getting him tossed from the establishment.
Lt. John Williams said a bar worker had a concealed weapon and returned the gunman’s fire, killing him. Williams said the three people injured by gunfire don’t have life-threatening injuries.
Williams said police interviewed the worker. He said the Cabell County prosecutor’s office is reviewing the incident.
Police identified the gunman as Antonio Devon Brown, 25, of Huntington.
The shooting happened at Shops on 4th Avenue and 12th Street just before 3 a.m.
They said Brown shot a woman and man in the stomach and another woman in the foot.
Investigators said one of the women was involved in the argument.
That’s when officers said a bouncer at the bar fired his concealed gun, killing Brown.
