RODEO — Officials have identified a man killed while sitting in a car outside a Rodeo home Saturday.
The Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office said 25-year-old San Pablo resident Jason Ray Jones died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Jones was shot following an argument on the 1000 block of Viewpointe Boulevard in Rodeo around 1 a.m., according to Contra Costa County Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee.
When deputies responded to a call of gunshots fired, they found Jones lying in the front yard of a home. Though deputies performed CPR on him, Jones was later pronounced dead by paramedics.
Before the incident, Jones was sitting in a car with a woman when they were approached by three unknown people, one of whom shot Jones, Lee said. The woman only suffered minor injuries.
