Police are investigating a neighborhood on the Westside after a shooting left one man dead, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO said it happened around 10 a.m. Sunday at a house on Cranberry Lane. When officers arrived, they found a man in his early 20s shot in his car.
Police later identified the man as 21-year-old, Craig James Brown.
Brown was taken to UF Health Jacksonville where he later died.
JSO said there was some type of verbal argument that took place between Brown and the shooter and that the two knew each other.
Police said it appears the shooter was waiting for the victim to come out of the house when he shot him. He then fled on foot.
