Anderson Police have identified the man who was fatally shot on Chase Street Sunday night.
Police say 21-year-old Quashawn Jordan was shot in the 1600 block of Chase Street around 7:00 pm. A friend drove him to St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
ANDERSON, Ind. – Anderson police have charged a relative with the Dec. 15 shooting death of 21-year-old Quashawn Jordan.
On Thursday, police arrested 18-year-old De’Auntaye D. White on a warrant related to the shooting death of Jordan, his cousin.
White is charged with murder in Jordan’s death, and is being held at the Madison County Jail without bond.
Witnesses told police White fired several shots at Jordan on Dec. 15, hitting him in the abdomen and the leg. Jordan was taken to St. Vincent Regional Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
On December 15, 2013, the defendant, De’Auntaye White murdered Quashawn Jordan at the Geater Center in Anderson, Indiana. Quashan Jordan was gunned down by De’Auntaye White after a drug deal that went sour. The defendant, De’Auntaye White, went to the Geater Center to sell marijuana. He met with Quashawn Jordan and opened fire, firing at least 3 shots, at Quashawn Jordan. Quashawn Jordan died a short time later at St. John’s emergency department. The State of Indiana charged the defendant with murder.
The defendant went on the run and after ten days was apprehended by the police in Marion, Indiana, where he had been hiding out at a relative’s house. The defendant was tried in front of a 12-panel jury in Madison County Circuit Court 3 and was convicted of murder. On December 15, 2014, he received a 65 year sentence to the Indiana Department of Correction.
