Police rushed to a residence in Enid and discovered a shooting victim lying in a pool of blood in a bedroom.
Just before 7 p.m. on December 16, someone called 911 and reported a man needed an ambulance at a house in the 400 block of W. Walnut. When police arrived, they found 43-year-old David Richard Wimmer lying face down in a bedroom. He’d been shot in the chest.
Paramedics declared Wimmer dead at the scene. His body was transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City for an autopsy.
ENID, Okla. – Police in Enid say they have arrested a 66-year-old man for narcotics and possession of a firearm after discovering a dead body in his home earlier this week.
On Monday, officers were called to the 400 block of W. Walnut after someone found 43-year-old David Wimmer lying in a pool of blood.
Once they arrived, paramedics determined Wimmer had died of an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.
Authorities learned that 66-year-old Michael Berdahl was the resident of the home berdahlwhere the shooting took place.
They were able to find him in Kansas, where he was arrested for possession of narcotics.
Investigators also found a firearm that they believe was used during the crime on his person.
Court documents filed Friday against Michael Laurence Berdahl in support of a first-degree murder charge state Berdahl admitted to shooting 43-year-old David Richard Wimmer.
