CARRBORO – Carrboro police are searching for a man wanted for questioning about a shooting that happened early Friday, leaving one person dead and another injured.
Officers responded to a call about a robbery and shooting around 2:00 a.m. at 105 Wesley St.
Captain Chris Atack said that when Carrboro Police arrived at the home, two people had sustained gunshot wounds.
David Lee Goodman, 27, of Durham, died on-scene, and the other person was transported to UNC Hospitals with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Police have not released that person’s identity.
The brother of the injured man called police, saying that two intruders broke into the home, attempting to rob them, and that one of them shot his brother in the head, according to the 911 call. Atack confirmed the caller was the homeowner.
A Durham man shot and killed Dec. 20 at 105 Wesley St. in Carrboro was one of two attempting to rob the home at gunpoint.
Capt. Chris Atack of the Carrboro Police Department said investigators are still trying to determine why David Lee Goodman, 27, and an accomplice stormed the small house – the site of much reported criminal activity in recent years – with guns drawn.
Carrboro Police said they responded to a call at 1:52 a.m. about a possible armed robbery at 105 Wesley Street. Wesley Street is about nine blocks west of the Carolina Inn and the UNC campus.
