Updated at 11:30 a.m.: Dallas police have confirmed that two men shot overnight in South Dallas were robbed. Both men were shot multiple times. One man died at the scene, and the other was transported to a local hospital.
Police are searching for the suspect.
Original post at 6:30 a.m.: Police are investigating after one man is dead and another was seriously injured in a gang-related shooting in South Dallas overnight.
Deon Bell, 31, was found shot several times around 12:55 a.m. in the 3700 block of Wendelkin Street, near S.M. Wright Freeway. Bell was pronounced dead at the scene. According to an incident report, the shooting was related to gang activity.
Another man was transported to a local hospital in serious condition. The men were sitting in a car when someone opened fire on them. Police recovered property from the injured man to determine how much money had been taken from him during the shooting, according to a police report.
