A Pontiac man suspected of homicide is currently in custody awaiting charges tied to a reported fatal shooting at a holiday party.
Police say 46-year-old Kerry Holley of Pontiac is lodged at Oakland County Jail — suspected of shooting and killing 34-year-old Hardin Harris, also of Pontiac. He was taken into custody Sunday night on California Street, and detectives expect to bring charges Tuesday morning.
Deputies were called to a home in the 30 block of W. Columbia Avenue in Pontiac at 8:41 p.m. on Saturday after getting a report that someone had been shot during a holiday party.
The victim was located in the basement of the home and was transported to McLaren Hospital in Pontiac, where he was pronounced dead.
The victim and the suspect had engaged in a verbal argument, according to police. The suspect allegedly began shooting at the victim in the living room and chased him toward the rear of the home, where the suspect ran out.
