BELLE GLADE — A Belle Glade man was shot to death Sunday night in an encounter with two men at his front door, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Monday.
Frederick Carter died at Delray Medical Center, where he had been flown by Trauma Hawk after the shooting, said Teri Barbera, sheriff’s spokeswoman.
Detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide, Barbera said. It is the 74th homicide in Palm Beach County in 2013, according to Palm Beach Post records.
Two men approached Carter’s home in the 600 block of Southwest Seventh Street around 10:30 p.m. Sunday. They knocked on the door and shot Carter numerous times, Barbera said. The suspects then fled.
