UPDATE: Police on Thursday said the investigation into this homicide has revealed that the shooting originated on Stenton Avenue near Gorgas Lane several blocks away. The victim ran from the original location of the shooting and collapsed near Stenton and Haines, according to police.
Police have identified the man killed last night in front of a West Oak Lane water-ice shop as Marquine Pickett, 19, of Carroll Park.
Pickett, of Master Street near 58th, was shot in the chest in front of the Rita’s Water Ice on Stenton Avenue near Haines Street about 9:30 p.m., police said. He died shortly after at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Officials said 19-year-old Marquine Pickett was gunned down at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Rita’s Water Ice stand in the West Oak Lane section of the city.
