Killed – Brandon Luster (Tucson, AZ)

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) – Tucson Police have identified the victim of Wednesday night’s homicide.

Sgt. Maria Hawke tells KGUN9 28-year old Brandon Luster was shot just before 11:00 p.m. at an apartnement complex near Grant Road and Stone Avenue.

Police responded to a shots fired call, and when they arrived on scene, they found Luster shot. They said paramedics took him to the hospital where he later died.

Widmer says officers spoke with several people when they arrived and learned that the shooting might have been gang related.

A Tucson man convicted of fatally shooting another man in an apartment parking lot last year was sentenced to 16½ years in prison.

Pima County Superior Court Judge Christopher Browning sentenced Donald Earl Woods to prison for the October 2013 shooting death of Brandon Luster, then 28.

Woods pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter for Luster’s death. The plea agreement came after a jury could not reach a unanimous verdict for the first-degree murder charge.
