The death of 27-year-old pizza delivery man Nathan Collin Leon left clues scattered across 20 miles of the Denver metro region Sunday.
Denver police said it appeared Leon was shot to death.
His body was discovered at 5:45 p.m. Sunday in an open space in Golden at 151 South Rooney Road, which is near the the junction of West Colfax Avenue, Interstate 70 and Colorado 470.
About noon Sunday Leon was dispatched to deliver a pizza from the Domino’s Pizza franchise at 4030 Colorado Blvd., about two blocks south of Interstate 70, to the Sapp Bros Travel Center along Interstate 270.about 3 ½ miles to the northeast, according to police.
Leon’s car was found abandoned about a mile and a half from the delivery site. Police have reviewed surveillance tapes at the gas station, but have not released any details about what was found.
Police received a report from the pizza shop shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday. Leon had been missing for more than two hours after going out on a delivery, police were told.
