DINWIDDIE – Authorities are investigating as a homicide the death of a Dinwiddie County man Sunday night near the Petersburg line.
The county sheriff’s office said Corey Vann Mills, 30, was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound when deputies responded to a 10:15 p.m. call of shots fired at his home in the 25000 block of Dinwiddie Avenue, just west of the Central State Hospital grounds in the northeastern tip of Dinwiddie.
Mills, who was found along the street just outside his residence, was taken to the medical examiner’s office in Richmond for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
