LAS CRUCES >> The murder trial for an FBI agent and former Las Cruces man accused in April of fatally shooting his estranged wife at their home in suburban Washington, D.C., has been rescheduled, now set for March.
Arthur B. Gonzales, a 42-year-old FBI agent, is facing second-degree murder and felony firearm charges, according to the Virginia courts online database. Authorities allege he shot Julie Serna Gonzales, 42, on April 19 in his Stafford County, Va. home.
Stafford deputies responded to a home on Alderwood Drive in North Stafford around 2:42 p.m. Friday for the reported shooting, Stafford Sheriff’s Office spokesman Bill Kennedy said in a news release.
When deputies arrived they found a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds, he said.
“The shooting was between the husband and estranged wife,” Kennedy said.
