An Upper Bucks County man shot and killed his 59-year-old daughter and then turned the gun on himself Saturday night in Bucks County, according to District Attorney David Heckler.
A professional caregiver for the daughter, who had unspecified disabilities, had left the East Rockhill Township house to get food and discovered the bodies of Thaddeus Swierzewski, 78, and Mary Swierzewski when she returned about 9 p.m., Heckler said.
The Pennridge Regional Police Department determined that the shooting at Clymer and Sterner Mill Roads was a murder-suicide, Heckler said.
Bucks County Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell said Mary Swierzewski was shot twice and that Thaddeus Swierzewski died from a single self-inflicted gunshot wound.
