Killed – Eugene Jackson (Gary, IN)

CROWN POINT | A Lake County jury acquitted a Gary man Wednesday in the November slaying of another city man in the 4400 block of Virginia Street.

Robert L. Crawford, 27, was found not guilty in the slaying of Eugene Jackson Jr. after less than an hour of deliberation by the Lake Criminal Court jury.

Jackson, 33, was shot 12 times before dying outside of his home Nov. 29, police said.

Police found Jackson lying in a driveway unresponsive. Jackson was declared dead at the scene about 4:45 p.m., authorities said.
