Police identified the victim of a shooting death Friday as 50-year-old Andrew J. Bonelli.
He lived in the 500 block of North Birdneck Road, Sgt. Margie Hobbs, a police spokeswoman, said Saturday. A woman suspected in the shooting remained in critical condition with gunshot wounds that appeared to be self-inflicted, Hobbs said.
Police found Bonelli with gunshot wounds when they responded to a call shortly before 6 p.m. Friday to the 5700 block of Bayside Road.
Shortly after arriving, they were made aware of a second victim in a car in the 5500 block of Campus Drive. At the second scene, they found a female victim shot.
VIRGINIA BEACH– Police have identified the suspect who died in a double shooting in Virginia Beach on April 26.
Police say 51-year-old Helen Ruth DeHarde of the 1300 block of Crane Crescent in Virginia Beach died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Helen Ruth DeHarde, 51, of the 1300 block of Crane Crescent, died April 27 after being in critical condition since the day before, a news release said.
Both victims were taken to Sentara Norfolk General. Bonelli died a short time later.
