Killed – Cortez Bailey (Chicago, IL)

Late this morning, a 23-year-old man was fatally wounded in the city’s South Shore neighborhood. That  shooting happened about 11:52 a.m. on the 7500 block of Yates Boulevard, said Police News Affairs Officer Dan O’Brien.

The man was shot in the chest and was taken in serious-to-critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, O’Brien said.

He was identified as Cortez Bailey of the 7600 block of South Kingston Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
