Killed – Darrell Payton (New Orleans, LA)

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office has identified a man killed earlier this week in Tremé as Darrell Payton.

Payton, 33, was shot to death about 2 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of North Roman Street, said John Gagliano, the coroner’s chief investigator. Police originally said Payton was 35.

Witnesses told police they saw a dark gray or blue vehicle speed away from the area moments after the shooting. Police have not provided any other description of the vehicle.
