An 80-year-old man was fatally shot on Thursday in an Encino neighborhood and police were still investigating why someone would have killed him.
The incident happened at 2:30 a.m. at the victim’s mansion in the 5300 block of Andasol Avenue in Encino, police said.
Harvey Cohen was identified as the man who was shot and wounded. He died at a hospital.
Eighty-year-old investment banker Harvey Cohen was found by his wife in the early-morning hours of Sept. 19, lying on the floor of their kitchen at the home in the 5300 block of Andasol Avenue.
Investigators said she initially reported a medical emergency in a 911 call, but when paramedics arrived, they discovered Cohen had been shot in the abdomen. He was transported to a local hospital just before 3 a.m., where he later died.
A 45-caliber shell casing was found at the scene, but no weapon was recovered.
